HSBC’s long-time head of global markets in Singapore is moving to a fintech adviser. He is one of the highest-ranking bankers from traditional finance to move to the burgeoning technology industry.
Asian research and advisory firm Lightbulb Capital said it hired Matthew Cannon (pictured left), former head of global markets at HSBC in Singapore. Although the firm has already been founded in 2014 in Hong Kong, Cannon will join as co-founder, according to a media statement on Friday. Cannon, who joins from May 1 subject to regulatory approval, has more than 25 years of sales and trading experience in London, New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Korea and most recently Singapore.
